UTGSU strengthens partnership with Access Bank, Comium

In a bid to strengthen partnership with key institutions, the University of The Gambia Students Union (UTGSU) on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on the management of Access Bank Gambia Ltd and one of the country’s telecommunication giants- Comium Gambia.

This move is part of broader efforts by the newly elected student leaders to rejuvenate and further lubricate the already existing ties with the UTG students.

At Access Bank, discussions were mainly centered on way of strengthening collaborations in key areas.

Additionally, the student delegation engaged in discussions over scholarship opportunities and employment pathways for UTG graduates.

In response, the bank officials assured that they will continue to work with the union to effectively support them in their academic pursuit and professional development initiatives as a whole.

The delegation then proceeded to Comium and topics of discussion included how to promote and strengthen the already existing relationship between the two institutions.

The student leaders also briefed Comium officials about their forthcoming Students’ Week, further discussing the support the telecommunication provider could render in making the event a memorable and impactful experience for students.

Discussion on establishing a Student Bantaba at Faraba Campus also came to light, which will incorporate printing services, improving internet connectivity, creating a campus media studio and collaboration on financial literacy training were also highlighted.

These courtesy visits are part of a broader effort to strengthen partnerships with key institutions that align with its vision of empowering students through meaningful collaboration and opportunity.

The UTGSU students Union therefore express gratitude to both Access Bank and Comium for the warm reception and look forward to having long lasting mutual partnerships.
