Known for its advocacy on transitional justice, gender and community development, Fantanka was established in December 2018. Since its inception, the CSO has been instrumental in closing the gaps in sexual and reproductive health and bolster human rights awareness in The Gambia.
The meeting, according to student leaders, is crucial as the CSO’s programmes aligns with the union’s ongoing mission to foster strategic partnerships that promote civic education and youth empowerment through debate.
Further, the meeting provided an opportunity for both organisations to share their respective visions and explore potential areas of collaboration.
At the event, Fantanka expressed interest in partnering with UTGDA in the implementation of a nationwide activity, which would form part of their series of activities under the African Union Transitional Justice Legacy Fund.
Both parties also expressed interest to collaborate in their future programmes.
