Baboucarr Jatta was speaking recently at the closing ceremony of a 20-day training on NTA and DDI/GDDI held at the Metzy Residence Hotel in Kololi.
The training was part of the Sub-Saharan Women’s Empowerment and Demographic Dividend (SWEDD+) project, organised by the National Population Commission Secretariat (NPCS) with funding from World Bank.
The training focused more on updating the DDMI profile, which is a crucial step in understanding demographic trends and their implications on the country’s development.
According to Jatta, the significance of this achievement cannot be overstated, saying it aims to create a platform to enable Gambia to track progress more effectively toward the achievement of the Demographic Dividend, a key element in their Green Recovery Focused-National Development Plan (RF-NDP).
The achievements of the capacity building, he went on, also serves an opportunity and that it will have a positive impact on Gambia’s development trajectory.
“We cannot afford to miss and I am excited about the positive impact it will have on The Gambia's development trajectory.”
“I would like to emphasise the importance of collaboration, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence in all our endeavours. This achievement underscores what we can accomplish when we work together with a shared vision and a commitment to progress.”
