The book subtitled:“My Truth Commission Journey” is published by Global Hands Publishing and released on 1st December 2022.
Making a review of the book, Madam Ndey Tapha Sosseh stated: “The 320 page captured in 22 chapters is a stark reminder of the enormous suffering of people under 20 years of dictatorship and the significant sacrifices.”
She added that the book tries to unlock the slimy, dark and often times silent terror that Gambian people “had to endure under the dictatorship and serve as a clarion call for each to commit to the never again mantra of the TRRC.” emerge
The books aims at making Gambians reflect on the role they played in creating, nursing, nourishing and unfortunately accepting for twenty years tyranny and despotism by re-enacting them to take a hard look into the proverbial mirror and wake up to the reality that dictator Yahya Jammeh is not an aberration, but he is of them and made by them.
The author’s narrative walks readers through the initial stage of building the research and investigations unit and investigating a wide range of incidents, such as the murder and torture of children during the April 10 -11 student protests, killing of West African migrants amongst others.
