The gesture, according to hospital officials, is not the first by the charity in reaching out to the hospital with essential medical drugs geared towards enhancing service delivery at the hospital.
Presenting the items, Abdou Jallow, chairperson of Save Our World, underscored the importance of quality health care in any development, reminding that this is not their first time extending support to the country’s main referral hospital.
Those essential drugs, he added, were donated by their partners in the United Kingdom, further expressing optimism that the items would help greatly in ensuring service delivery at the hospital.
Jallow observed that access to essential medical drugs is a great challenge in the country, and it was for this reason that the charity makes it a duty to complement government’s efforts in promoting the wellbeing of Gambians.
“Health care is a concern for all Gambians and we all have a stake to play in strengthening our health care service. Government alone cannot do this.”
Receiving the items, Dr. Ammar Al Jafari, Chief Medical Director at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, thanked the charity for the magnanimity, acknowledging that the items would go a long way in improving effective health care delivery at the hospital.
CMD Al Jafari assured that the items would be used judiciously and called on them to continue supporting the country’s main referral hospitals.
Nyima Jatta, principal store officer at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, thanked the charity for the timely gesture, admitting that the items would go a long in strengthening effective service delivery at the hospital.
She acknowledged that this is not the first time the charity is reaching out to the hospital with essential lifesaving drugs.
