Old Yundum Police are investigating a reported incident of threatening violence involving Abdoulie Bojang and Bunis Briwandi, which occurred on April 29, 2026.

Preliminary findings indicate that the incident arose at a supermarket entrance in Old Yundum after the complainant was asked to relocate his parked vehicle. Subsequently, the situation reportedly escalated into an altercation, during which the complainant alleged that the suspect attempted to assault him with an iron object.

Following the incident, the suspect was arrested, cautioned, and later granted police bail pending the outcome of ongoing investigations. Witness statements have been obtained as part of the inquiry.

Meanwhile, The Gambia Police Force has noted with concern the circulation of unverified information relating to this matter on social media. The Force unequivocally dissociates itself from such claims and has not established any evidence to support allegations of derogatory remarks against the President as circulated online.

Investigations remain ongoing, and further updates will be provided as necessary.

In this regard, The Gambia Police Force reaffirms its commitment to due process, impartiality, and the rule of law, and urges the public to refrain from disseminating unverified information that may undermine ongoing investigations.
