The partnership is designed to enhance access to clean water, renewable energy, and essential community infrastructure. Initial efforts will focus on the rehabilitation and installation of boreholes and solar-powered systems at selected CorpsAfrica project sites nationwide. The collaboration also includes co-facilitation of training programmes aimed at empowering community members to submit projects, manage budgets, and track progress—ensuring long-term sustainability and local ownership.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr Bubacarr Sidibeh, Chief Executive Officer of PESSSI COMPANY LIMITED, stated:
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to improving lives through technology, innovation, and community service.”
He added that the initiative would promote climate resilience and strengthen local engagement in development outcomes.
The MOU underscores both organisations’ shared vision for social impact, capacity building, and sustainable resource management—aligned with The Gambia’s national development priorities and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Mr Foday Bojang, Country Director of CorpsAfrica–The Gambia, echoed the sentiment:
“This partnership with PESSSI reflects our shared belief that sustainable progress begins with empowering local communities.
By combining our community development approach with PESSSI’s technical expertise in solar, water, and infrastructure systems, we can strengthen access to essential services, create youth employment, and ensure long-term resilience.
Together, we are not only improving infrastructure but also building hope and opportunity for generations to come.”
