NAYCONF Media committee visits The Point, others

As part of its pre-NAYCONF engagement with stakeholders, the media and publicity sub-committee of the National Youth Conference and Festival dubbed -NAYCONF recently paid a courtesy call on the management of The point newspaper.

 

 

 The visit was aimed at creating more visibility ahead of the upcoming national event slated from 15-23 December in Banjul.

Also, the biennial event brings together about 2000 young people from across the country and discusses thematic issues affecting the livelihoods of young people. 

Speaking at the meeting, Muhammed S. Bah, chairperson of the committee said that the visit, a part of the pre-NAYCONF media engagement is also to solicit support from The Point during the forthcoming youth gathering. 

Nfamara Jawneh, vice chairperson of the committee, acknowledged that the youth gathering have various activities such as conference, cultural display and sports. 

“We will be having a usual NAYCONF newsletter to report on daily activities at the event but we also need the support of national media organisations to broaden the coverage to wider Gambian audience,” he said. 

In response, Mr. Pap Saine, co-publisher of The Point newspaper, assured the team of their full support towards the event. “I can assure you that we will give the event full coverage it deserves.” he stated.

Meanwhile, the media and publicity sub-committee had earlier visited QTV, Fatu Network, Kerr Fatu who all assured the committee of their full support.
