The training seeks to equip participants with the requisite knowledge to be able to understand the importance of Skills Gaps Assessment, while also exposing them to the rationale behind the assessment, its benefits and to learn new techniques in identifying skills gaps within the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Declaring the training open, Sheriff Jallow Director, Civil Service Reform and Planning Unit under the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative Reforms, Policy Coordination and Delivery, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, said the training will boost participants’ knowledge in learning and development, while also enhancing their capabilities.
The training, he added, is the first step and it is important to their journey to have regular capacity building training on Skills Gap assessment of MDAs.
Jallow reminded that Skills Gap Assessment is part of the Ministry’s work and mandates especially the Human Resources Development Division (HRDD) under the Personnel Management Office (PMO).
The consultants from Uganda and Kenya are from CERFODES Firm led by the coordinator of the project, Mr. Ronald Okite.
