
Power BI is a collection of software services and apps among others that work together to turn unrelated sources of data into coherent, visually immersive, and interactive insights.
Speaking to The Point on the sideline of the training, the Permanent Secretary (PS) Reforms at the Ministry of Public Service (MoPS), Sheriff Jallow said his Ministry in collaboration with the Accountant General’s Department are developing an HR and payroll data warehouse where Microsoft Power BI Analytics can be applied for advanced and highly customised HR and payroll data analytics.
“Once completed, will offer the Ministry the opportunity to monitor various HR and payroll related reports on a dashboard to facilitate quick and accurate decision making.” he added.
PS Jallow underscored the role of MoPS in ensuring efficient service delivery and decision-making, saying in today’s data-driven world, leveraging tools like Microsoft Power BI can significantly enhance data analysis, visualisation, and reporting capabilities.
Thus, the training has objectives to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Data analytics and visualisation, to equip participants with hands-on skills in using Microsoft Power BI, to enable participants to create interactive dashboards and reports for data-driven decision making as well as to enhance the Ministry’s capacity to use Power BI for Analysis and insights.
