The two-day convergence attracted top education officials, including Regional Education Directors, MoBSE’s Permanent Secretary Louis Moses Mendy, Deputy Permanent Secretary Mr. Jobe, the Director of Human Resource Management, Principal Education Officers, and HR focal points from various directorates.
The committee met to finalise teacher postings under the Scheme of Service (SOS) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
At the event, PS Mendy reassured the teaching community that the process would be fair and transparent, prioritising equity in teacher deployment across the country.
While acknowledging delays in this year’s posting process, PS Mendy attributed it to the Ministry’s careful approach to ensure placements are based on genuine educational needs.
“Teachers and school administrators will be posted to locations where their services are most required,” he stated.
Thousands of teachers across The Gambia are now awaiting their final posting results, which will be released following the committee’s deliberations.
