The event, held at the President International Awards Scheme (PIA), seeks to foster unity and togetherness among members of the association.
At the event, Pa Sait Ceesay, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kanifing Municipal Council, said tailoring offers several benefits in fashion design with one of the most significant being that the garment will be a perfect fit.
Ceesay underscored the importance of the profession in today's growing market and urged young people to embrace it to be able to design their own costumes.
To that end, he called on the government of The Gambia through the Ministry of Youth to have a policy that would promote Gambian made products.
For his part, Bakary Y. Badjie, Minister for Youth and Sports, promised that the government of The Gambia would play its part to support members of the association.
"Tailoring is the process of creating garments that are specifically designed to fit an individual's body. Creating that perfect fit involves great skill and a range of techniques, all the while maintaining a high-quality garment." he stated.
