The items, which includes bags of rice, sugar, onions and 20 liter gallons of oil, were presented in observance of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
In presenting the items, Kebba Macoumba Njie, a representative of the Kairaba Pharmaceuticals Ltd, reminded that Ramadan is a blessed month during which Muslims dedicate a lot in fasting, sharing and distribution of food stuffs, which he said, has considerable significance during the month.
He recalled that one honorable gesture in Ramadan is the act of giving assistance in whatever form to the poor and the needy.
Njie noted that Kairaba Pharmaceuticals Ltd has always been a responsible member of the business community, fully aware of its obligations to the state and to the Gambian populace.
“As part of its corporate social responsibilities, the company has a policy of reaching out to the people and institutions like the Kanifing General Hospital by donating food items or medicines. It is in this regard, that I have been asked to come here and represent the management and deliver these items to the hospital as our contributions.”
The company, he added, prides itself in reaching out to the people and doing whatever it can, that would significantly touch the lives of the ordinary Gambians.
