
The Association for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (TAPEA) feels it deemed fit, to add it's Voice, concern, love and care to expressed gratitude and as a sign of appreciation on the vital key roles that older persons have contributed in the society. Acknowledging their efforts done in the past, in different areas of development.
The Association has the pleasure of honouring, their dedication and commitments bringing us this far, making life meaningful and conducive. Bravo for your wisdom, guidance and support, by bringing us to this stage as a nation and family. It's now our duty and responsibility to look after them when they can no longer take care of themselves in homes and institutions they may be. Making them free from financial exploitation, emotional, physical and psychological distress, also to avoid inflicting of pains. Which can be done knowingly or unknowingly. Where there is an expectation of trust Which can cause harm or distress and they might be shy to Voice out or feels reluctant to report, to the relevant authorities for the appropriate actions to be taken.
The Association aims to ensure that creating awareness through public media will boost some morals and attitudial change in some forms of abuses and behavioural patterner towards older persons, addressing various forms of abuse and ensure their protection and support in all settings. It is everyone's duty and responsibility to actively ensure that older individuals, especially the vulnerable, receive care.
The Association urges everyone to commit and contribute to the well-being of senior citizens.
Finally, Association extend its best wishes for good health, long life and many more celebrations to all older persons acknowledging their lives well spent.
