CLOSING SPEECH BY THE AMIR AT THE 36TH ANNUAL NATIONAL IJTEMA OF MAJLIS KHUDAMMUL AHMADIYYA THE GAMBIA AT MASROOR SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL, OLD YUNDUM,

Assalamo Alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatuhu

We thank Allah Almighty for enabling us to gather here once again to witness yet another blessed event of the 36th National Ijtema of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, The Gambia that is the National Annual Youth Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at. We thank Allah Almighty for enabling us to spend these three days in each other’s company in a spiritual atmosphere and environment.

The year 2020 has been a  challenging year the world over, due to Covid-19 but we thank Allah Almighty for all the blessings and favours He bestowed upon us and also blessing us with the opportunity to gather here together spending these three days in His remembrance and worship and also fostering brotherhood and love.

As youths of this country, the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya has a great role to play in the socio-economic development of our beloved country The Gambia. For that reason, you should all strive in academic excellence and also excellences in other technical fields and areas that you may be involved in which will enable you all to contribute to the development of The Gambia now and in the future.

As youths, you should always be good citizens and always be law-abiding and should be at all times good ambassadors of this country. You should all exercise discipline and go about your affairs with peace, humility and sincerity. You should not abuse anyone but instead you should be helpful to all and be part of those who preach and establish peace at all times.

You should always pray for the peace of this country and also have the best interest of The Gambia our homeland at heart and should love this country because The Gambia is what we have and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said “LOVE FOR ONE’S COUNTRY IS A PART OF FAITH”. So with this saying ringing in your ears, you should live your lives accordingly and always wish your country the best.

As youths, your attitude should be that of brotherhood, peace and love for each other and that is what you should strive to instil deeper in yourselves and others and that should be the way you live your everyday life.

Last year I spoke about peace and its importance during my speech at your Ijtema and this year as well when the same message is even needed more and I will repeat here that Peace is a gift from Allah Almighty, which He bestowed upon us, without peace we cannot hold such types of gatherings, without peace we cannot succeed individually and collectively, without peace we cannot worship our Lord, Allah the Almighty properly and without peace we cannot move our Nation forward.

For that reason, since you the youths are the backbone of our country, the movers, the fruits, the future of this great land we call our homeland, you should always jealously safeguard the peace of this country.

Some people in our societies are bent on spreading false information and hatred and they don’t stop at that but they are also bent on creating discord amongst people of various denominations and sects, be it religion, or otherwise. We should be aware of such people and never be part of their mischiefs.

As I mentioned before, this country the Gambia is a land of peace and we have been living here side by side as brothers and sisters despite our different beliefs and faiths. this quality we have is indeed an envy for many countries and we should jealously safeguard it.

Islam is a religion of peace and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the last law bearing Prophet came to establish peace, morality, spirituality and fear of Allah Almighty in the hearts of humanity.

As mentioned in the Holy Quran and prophesied by the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustapha (SAW) and our forefathers, we the members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at firmly believed and have the faith that the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (AS) has appeared.

Islam is not a personal or group property for sale at the market, it is a universal religion and a Muslim is a person who believed and practised the pure, pristine and true teachings of Islam.

As Khuddam and Atfal, you should always compete each other in the doing of good. In our Jama’at we have various schemes which you can compete each other to win the pleasure of Allah Almighty. These include but not limited to Financial Sacrifices, Waqf (Devotion of Ones Live in the cause of Allah Almiughty), Waqar-e-Amal etc. You should be punctual in paying your Khuddam Subscriptions and that of your Chanda.

There are two schemes which I want to draw the attention of Khuddam to and these are the Waqf-e-Zindagi and Waqf-e-Nau Schemes. We need young Khuddam to devote their lives in cause of Allah Almighty to serve Islam in the best possible manner.

We need more Missionaries to help carry out the work of the Jama’at for that I appeal to Khuddam to devote their lives for this purpose. For Waqf-e- Nau Scheme, as many young Khuddam are getting married now, they should have the desire and wish and will to devote the lives of their unborn children in the cause of Allah Almighty so that when they grow up, they can be servants of Allah Almighty and serve Him and humanity in the best possible manner.

Alhamdulillah, both these schemes are growing and for that reason, we should all try to benefit from them in one way or the other.

Always be punctual in offering your five daily prayers and also try to be regular in offering Tahajjud and also try your utmost best to recite the Holy Quran at all times because we cannot attain true salvation without Salat.

We are all required to increase in our prayer (Dua) for all suffering countries, individuals and the sick.

At the end I am conveying His Holiness Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih’s V(May Allah be his Helper) Hazrat Masroor Ahmad, Spiritual and Supreme Head of Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at salam and special prayers to you all and the entire country and His Holiness is continuously praying for our dear and beloved country The Gambia and I am humbly requesting you to pray for His Holiness.

May Allah Almighty bless all of us to heed to the advices and guidance of the Khalifa of the time and bless us to fulfill our obligations as Muslims.

We should continue to pray for the Khalifa of the time, the Jama’at, our beloved country and the whole world at large and may Allah Almighty always establish and maintain peace, security, tranquillity, harmony, success and progress in our great country and be with us at all times. May you all return home safely. Ameen.

Wassalam
