During the operation, officers recovered a wooden boat, a tricycle, two boat engines, five 60-litre gallons of fuel, and five 30-litre gallons of fuel. A suspected migrant smuggler was also apprehended and is currently in GID custody, assisting officers with ongoing investigations.
The intercepted group comprised seven (7) Gambians, twenty (20) Senegalese, six (6) Malians, and forty-three (43) Guineans. The group included males, fifty-four (54)males, fourteen( 14) females, and minors.
The operation demonstrates the GID’s continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property while strengthening effective migration management, border control, and national security.
