I-Care Optics inaugurates new branch in Brikama

I-Care Optics Ltd., an eye clinic that offers international standard eye care services in The Gambia on Tuesday inaugurated a new branch in the often-busy town of Brikama.

As in line with its mission, which is to provide affordable eye care services with the best facilities and the latest technology and equipment, the clinic is now expanding across the Gambia.

Elders of Brikama, religious leaders, representative of the chiefs, and officials amongst other prominent residents of Brikama, all welcomed the grand initiative with open hands and much elation.

Awa Njie-Conteh, marketing manager of I-Care Optics disclosed that they are planning to launch more branches to “facilitate the prevention of extreme eyesight damages for all.”

“I-Care as an institution deemed it necessary to decentralise the good and quality services we offer to a much wider range for easy access to all Gambians,” she said. She thanked their business partners and customers.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of I-Care Optics, Dr Muhammad Alam stated that his aim is to eradicate blindness and vision loss in The Gambia and ensure the eyes of all, Gambians and non-Gambians in The Gambia are healthy.

He assured quality services to the people of Brikama, saying: “The new office (Brikama Branch) is essential to provide accessible and affordable eye services and products for our customers within the West Coast Region and beyond.

Among the notables who graced the event was Dembo Jobarteh, who goes by the moniker D Jobz. Giving his remarks, Mr Jobarteh said he met Dr Alam sometime in 2022, and as an official of the Gambia Public Procurement Authority (GPPA), he helped Dr Alam establish his business and register with the GPPA.

He described the new edifice as a great initiative that would bring ease in Brkama, saying: “I know the people of Brikama will take this edifice as their edifice.”

He praised Dr Alam for his selfless dedication in ensuring that the vision of all Gambians is protected, saying: “What he has done here in one year, it seems as if he has been here for over 10 years.”

The new edifice is located approximately 100 meters from the Brikama Gunjur Junction, and about a few steps away from the Brikama Central Mosque.
