GRA deputy director HR to release two new books

Dr. Seedy Drammeh, deputy director of human resources at The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) is set to release two new books. The books will add to his 34 books published.

According to him, eleven of (11) of his books were of late approved by the Curriculum Office under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for use at both higher, basic and secondary schools while the two new books are at an advance to be released.

 “The two new books are: The Influence of Motivation on Employee Performance and “Strategies for Achieving Employee Engagement.”

Dr. Drammeh said the book on motivation is intended to enhance readers know-how of the positive impact motivation offers to employees performance or productivity.

He pointed out that motivation improves employee’s loyalty and inspire them to give their best to achieve personal as well as organisational objectives.

 He recommended that employers/organisations focus on motivating employees by developing and implementing appropriate strategies.

He said amongst the benefits of motivating employees include making the workforce feel valued thus inspiring them to work the extra mile to improve the reputation of the organisation they work for through positive deeds and advocacy. 

He also stated that when employees feel motivated, they serve the stakeholders more efficiently. He added that motivation enhances trust and closeness between management and other employees thus inspiring the workforce to work toward realising personal goals as well as the objectives of the organisation.

Speaking on the Strategies for Achieving Employee Engagement and Productivity, the author stated that in order for any organisation to attain its objectives through effectiveness and efficiency, the management of the organisation needs to proficiently promote employee engagement and make sure supervisors support and lead the process.

He further stated that employee engagement improves the participation of employees in the overall businesses of the organisation or institution they work for.

His books approved for use at schools include: The Plight of Women in Rural Africa, Meet Me In Banjul, Contribution of Corporate Governance, Effective Leadership, HR Management and Networking, Guide to Better Work Relationship, Office Politics and How to Survive It, Workplace Taboos and How to Control Them, Job Seekers Hand Booklet, Perceptive on New Gambia, Rethinking Irregular Migration: Causes, Course, Consequences and Corrective Measures.
