Gambian lawmakers participate in PAP

A Gambian Delegation is currently participating in the Third Ordinary Session of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), which commenced on Monday, June 24th, 2024 in Midrand, South Africa.

The session, being held under the theme "Educate An African Fit For The 21st Century," aligns with the African Union's theme of the year.

The delegation is led by Hon. Alhagie Mbow, who also serves as the Chairperson of the West African Caucus at the PAP.

A new member of the delegation, Hon. Fatoumatta Njai, was officially sworn in as a PAP Member. Other Members of the PAP delegation include Hon. Sulayman Saho, Hon. Swaibou Touray and Hon. Salifu Jawo.

During the opening session, solidarity messages from various dignitaries including the Dean of Ambassadors of African Countries and the guest of honour, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament were delivered.

The Gambian Ambassador to South Africa, Hon. Fatou Jahumpa Ceesay, also attended the opening session and met with the Gambian delegation.
