The announcement was made during a press conference organised by Tabital Pulaaku Ngal Fulbe The Gambia on Thursday, 17 September 2026, at the Kairaba Beach Hotel in Senegambia.
Addressing journalists, the Vice President of Tabital Pulaaku Ngal Fulbe The Gambia revealed that preparations for the highly anticipated gathering are at an advanced stage.
"The organising committee has already commenced work and significant progress has been made to ensure the Congress is a resounding success," he said.
He expressed confidence in the country's readiness to host the international event, citing The Gambia's peaceful political atmosphere and stable security environment.
"We are very hopeful and determined because the political and security environments are peaceful and stable. All the necessary standards are in place," he added.
The Vice President disclosed that the Congress will bring together delegates from more than 33 countries, including members of the diaspora, to discuss issues affecting Fulbe communities worldwide.
He also praised the outgoing executive of TabitalPulaaku International based in Nigeria for its commitment to advancing the organisation's objectives and strengthening its global network.
"They have remained committed to the progress and development of TabitalPulaaku International and its various branches," he stated.
According to him, an advance team has already arrived in The Gambia to support preparations for the assembly. Members of the delegation include Alhaji Alpha Sow from the United States, Abdul Hat Jallow, Alhassane Bah, and Abraham Jallow from Sierra Leone.
The delegation was received by the Organising Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Lamin Jallow, and the Deputy Secretary General, Alhaji Kebba Jallow.
Explaining why The Gambia was selected to host the prestigious assembly, he said the decision was based not on the country's size but on its unity, commitment and reputation.
"The Gambia has been chosen not because of its size, but because of its unity, hard work and the confidence people have in the country's leadership. This has given member countries the assurance that the Congress will be successful," he said.
He added that the selection of The Gambia was a significant honour and reflected the trust and support the country enjoys within the international organisation.
The Vice President also expressed appreciation to the media for its role in promoting public awareness and disseminating information about the upcoming event.
On logistical arrangements, he confirmed that the Kairaba Beach Hotel remains the official venue and that adequate accommodation and facilities have been secured for all delegates.
"We selected Kairaba Beach Hotel because of its accessibility and conducive environment. It is a comfortable venue that can accommodate participants and visitors effectively," he explained.
He further disclosed that arrangements have been made to allow those unable to enter the conference hall to follow proceedings through alternative viewing facilities.
The organisers have also assured delegates that comprehensive measures relating to transportation, hospitality and security have been put in place. Participants arriving from 25 September will be transported from the airport directly to their designated accommodation.
