The objective of the training was to support Gambian women in the informal sector by building their capacity in agriculture processing techniques such as processing, packaging, labeling, safety and standards for increased food, nutrition, income and employment security.
Participants were subjected to baby nutrition processing, pepper sauce, milk processing to yogurt and soap making during the training.
The group will equally be established into a cooperative to enable them organise for better access to support and resources.
The informal sector was able to achieve and realize their dream through funding from CMAT-Mali.
According to organisers, women and youth in the informal sector would continue to make their dreams realised together with global convergence.
