Gambia College student appeals for financial support

Wally Bah, a first year student at the Gambia College School of Education, pursuing his advanced diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECD) is appealing for financial support from philanthropists, Non-Governmental Organisations and individuals to finance his education.

The Gambia College is now a privatised institution with students having to pay for school fees even though the College is still under the ambit of government.

Mr Bah, a father and breadwinner of his family said he does not have a fixed job at the moment and is struggling to pay for his fees and put food on his family’s table at the same time.

He therefore appealed for assistance to ensure he does not drop out his studies.

“As things stand at the College now, one is required to make a payment of D7000 in order to register for his/her courses when you gain admission. Failure to do so means the person will not be allowed to sit for his/her exams,” he explained. Wally is to pay D36,000 during the three years of his studies at the Gambia College.
