The Chief Executive Officer of Gambia-Angola-China-Holdings Global Group (GACH) on Saturday pledged a sum of D150,000 to the Gambia-China Students Alumni Association at a ceremony held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Conference Center.

The move was in recognition of his cordial relationships between the Gambian students, who studied in the People’s Republic of China and GACH Global Group. To this end, CEO Jawara was invited as the Chief Guest of honor.

Deputising for the Chief Executive Officer of GACH, Dr. Abubakary Jawara, Yusuf Jawara underscored the importance of education and having one studying abroad and coming back to serve his or her nation.

Jawara equally preached about the virtues of patriotism reminding that ‘no one will come from outside to develop this country for us and thus called on all to play a part towards the development of the country.

He also pointed out that one should always ask what he or she can do for the country and not what the country can do for them.

To that end, Jawara reminded that mainland China was never involved in any other thing than development and the development is the reason for the construction of the Sir Dawda Kairaba Conference Center and the Gambia China Students Alumni, while acknowledging the substantial contribution of GACH in the life of ordinary Gambians.
