BFoTG boosts Jambanjelly Nursery School

Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG), an organisation based in Belgium over the weekend commenced the distribution of educational and health materials to its sponsored students at Jambanjelly School, West Coast Region. The ceremony was held at the school ground.

Speaking at the ceremony, chairman of BFoTG, Patrick De Vos said their organisation is sponsoring fifty students attending Jambanjelly Nursery, Upper Basic and Senior Secondary Schools.

“Out of 50 of our sponsor students, 45 are girls and 5 are boys. We are also undertaking a borehole project at Jamabanjelly Nursery School and also offering support to Jambanjelly Nursery School garden,” Mr. De Vos said.

According to him, BFoTG undertook the full renovation of two classrooms at Jambanjelly Nursery School. He also expressed their readiness to renovate the remaining classrooms next year.

He announced that they are also supporting the feeding of the entire pupils attending Jambanjelly Nursery School, adding that they have delivered 53 bags of rice to their sponsored pupils at the said school.

Mr. De Vos explained that they are always glad to support the future leaders of The Gambia, adding: “I am sure that the beneficiary students and their institutions appreciate our support.”

Headmaster of Jambanjelly Nursery School, Buba Jammeh said the donated pupils’ packages by their friends from Belgium would ease the burden on sponsored pupils’ parents, adding that the organisation is here to better the lives of the future leaders of The Gambia.

“We are grateful to our Belgian Friends for sponsoring Gambian students. We commend them for their selfless sacrifice to travel from Belgium to The Gambia annually to give support to our children,” one of the students’ parent at Jambanjelly said.
