His Excellency, President Adama Barrow acting on the powers vested in him by Section 190, Subsection 1A of the 1997 Constitution, has effective immediately, promoted and appointed the following military officers.
1. Major General Ousman Gomez, current Acting Chief of Defence Staff is appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff of The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF).
2. Brigadier General Sait Njie, currently Commander of The Gambia National Army, is the new Deputy Chief of Defence Staff.
3. Brigadier General Yaya Drammeh, current Commander of The Republican National Guards is the new Commander of The Gambia National Army.
4. Colonel Alhagie Sanneh, currently Defence Attache, The Gambia Permanent Mission at The United Nations in New York, is recalled and appointed new Commander of The Republican National Guards.
