The event at Helahein Lodge in Gunjur, united various descendants of the Baaba Jaiteh Kaaba family, along with numerous individuals carrying the Jaiteh surname.
Baaba Jaiteh Kaaba was born in Kankang, Guinea Conakry, but eventually migrated to The Gambia. He settled in the village of Kartong, guided by the wisdom of a knowledgeable individual.
As a key component of the reunion program, the Kartong Diaspora Healthcare Initiatives, in collaboration with the foundation, provided complementary medical services to both members and residents of Kartong and the surrounding areas.
In his remarks, Alhagie Omar Jaiteh, a member of the foundation, praised all attendees for their exceptional presence and significant contributions to the advancement of the foundation.
He stated that the foundation's purpose was to unite the children of Baa Jaiteh Kaaba with the entire Jaiteh Kunda family.
He urged all members to intensify their efforts to guarantee the lasting development of the foundation.
Nyima Jaiteh, the deputy spokesperson for the foundation, emphasised that the event holds great significance in bringing the Jaiteh family together from across the nation and beyond.
"We aim to deepen our connections and strengthen relationships within the entire Jaiteh Family," she stated.
Going forward, she urged everyone with the Jaiteh surname to unite and become a part of the foundation.
Dr. Ousman Jaiteh, a member of the foundation, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their significant contributions to the foundation's growth and development.
Demba Jaiteh, the head of the Kartong Jaiteh Kunda family, expressed his joy over the annual event. He noted that the reunion fostered connections among family members, deepening their relationships and helping them to become better acquainted with one another.
Jaiteh passionately urged the general membership to maintain their unity. "You are all part of the same family, so it's crucial that you support one another," he implored.
He urged the members to foster peace and unity among one another, while invoking Allah's protection for the foundation.
Mustapha Touray, the former chief of Kombo South, urged all members to steer clear of actions or behaviors that could foster division and misunderstanding within the group.
He urged them to uphold peace and unity, emphasising that this commitment would bolster the foundation's development.
The reunion program culminated in a colourful ceremony where certificates of appreciation were awarded to dedicated members for their significant contributions to the foundation.
