Artistes in Alliance for Arts & Culture holds dinner for 40 families

Artistes in Alliance for Arts and Culture, a local non-profit organisation committed to the promotion of art and culture recently organised a dinner for 40 families in the Kombo Central village of Manduar, West Coast Region. 

 

The event is part of the organisation’s activities to support needy children, owing to the difficult situation propelled by Covid-19 pandemic. It was in this move that the organisation decided to purchase vouchers as part of Christmas Eve dinner for 40 families. 

Mr. Fernando Mendy, a teacher in Manduar expressed delight that they were able to fulfill the dreams of needy families with the provision of food in observance of Christmas Eve.

“And dear ones, we thank you for your support and for being with us. There is nothing more rewarding than the kindness from the heart.” 

Saloum Sheriff Janko, a Gambian Journalist cum author, who is also the programme coordinator and the festival director of the organisation, lauded the donors for their support to the needy families. 

He urged donors to redouble their support to needy communities’ especially school-going children.

He used the forum to inform the people of their line-up of activities this year, which he said, includes health, education, tourism and environment activities in both the communities and in schools.
