Africell Gambia on Monday presented certificates to twelve (12) participants who successfully underwent a three-month intense course on digital marketing at Africell Learning Centre along Kairaba Avenue.

The move comes as institutions nowadays embrace digital marketing as it is the future in view of the fact that tech and innovation dictates people’s way of life. Among the participants were staff of the company, influencers, artists, a physical trainer, among a host of others.

Giving a synopsis of the event, Renold Senghore, Marketing and Communications manager, disclosed that participants underwent a three-month intensive course in digital marketing, saying the latter nowadays influence ‘our way of life.’

“Digital marketing is the future. Covid-19 has taught us one thing that is the internet is very vital. And a lot of people don’t want to go back to work because they can make a lot of money on it and that is the reality.”

Africell being a telecommunication company, he added, knows about this because the company itself is engaged in a lot of digital marketing.

Senghore disclosed that as a group, they know where the interest of their subscribers lie very well and one can only know this through digital marketing.

Africell Communications manager acknowledged that the internet is very broad and that digital marketing can help people make money out of it.

For his part, Hussein Diab, chief executive officer (CEO) of Africell, called on the participants to always consider themselves as no strangers at Africell, assuring them to always feel at home.

“Through your interactions with the company over the years some of you are now become more like a family to us. And today this moment is not about us, but about each and every one you.”

Africell CEO speaks highly of the participants, saying every single person in the room brings on board specific talents in the respective domains they specialised in.

“But what is most humbling about this group is that there is a message being passed down in this and that is one of self improvement, betterment and evolution.”

He lauded the participants for taking the offer extended to them by the telecommunication giant, reminding that change in itself ‘if embraced can change the world.’

“It is said that the only way to change to the world is to change ourselves. And what I see here is people changing themselves and what I mean by that is learning. The only way human being can improve is by learning.”
