Cadet ASI Siman Lowe examined how the Public Relations Office interacts and coordinates with various pillars, units and stations in discharging its functions, with emphasis on adherence to the established command structure, reporting lines and administrative procedures of the Department.
C/ASI Sulayman Sambou, Deputy Public Relations Officer, led a session on handling public complaints, covering appropriate referral processes, follow-up procedures and effective feedback mechanisms to ensure that complainants are properly guided and kept informed throughout the resolution process. This session underscored the GIDโs commitment to safeguarding transparency and public accountability.
Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Adjei , the Country Project Manager of Margins Group, delivered a presentation on the scope of operations, operational procedures and contractual obligations of Margins ID Group through its subsidiary Identity Management System (IMS) Gambia, in relation to the implementation of the National Identification Management System (NIMs).
His presentation provided the officers with a broader understanding of the NIMs implementation process. The session sought to equip officers with the requisite information to effectively respond to public concerns, support accurate media engagement and strengthen the Departmentโs public communication efforts.
The three-day training programme is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, with officers expected to benefit from further impactful, resourceful and practical sessions aimed at strengthening the capacity and effectiveness of the Public Relations Unit.
