Sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in collaboration with the Africa Regional Sexuality Resource Centre (ARSRC), the forum was aimed at exposing participants to cutting edge conceptual, theoretical, policy and programming issues in sexuality, sexual health, sexual rights and reproductive health.
Addressing the gathering, Kunle Adeniyi, UNFPA Country representative said sexual and reproductive health of youth is vital in creating empowered communities by empowering the adolescent and youth in order to make informed choices in the society and the country at large.
The programme, he added, is designed for young professionals across sectors of public service, civil society activists, programme officers, managers in health and social development organisations including media practitioners in order to know the importance of sexual rights and reproductive health.
Mariama Cham, a participant advised her fellow participants to make best use of the knowledge they gained during the course by training others who were not opportune to attend the course.
