In his first address as leader, Wally expressed gratitude to members for their dedication, noting their willingness to sacrifice sleep for the party’s future. He emphasised collaboration, humility, and accountability, urging members to correct the leadership when necessary.
“We, as the leadership, will be at your service and the service of the party and country. When we are wrong, please correct us. Do not leave us alone,” Wally said.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by party veterans over the past four decades and stressed that the new leadership would build on their legacy. Wally made a heartfelt appeal to Honourable Sidia Jatta and Honourable Halifa Sallah, inviting them to continue guiding the party.
