War on drug continues as DLEAG arrests  student, 3 others

The Drug Law Enforcement Agency The Gambia has apprehended four people including a student for possession of suspected cannabis sativa.

 

The arrestees are a 19-year-old student (male); 22-year (female); 25-year-old (male) and a 20-year-old (male).

Three bundles of suspected cannabis sativa were recovered from Lamin Badjie, a 19-year-old and a resident of Kanilai village. He was arrested at Bullock Checkpoint on 5 January 2022 while onboard a commercial vehicle heading towards Brikama. 

Mariama Saidy a 22-year-old from Busumbala was apprehended alongside 25-year-old Musa Jara by DLEAG’s New Yundum Field Office. They were caught with 26 parcels and 53 wraps of suspected cannabis sativa on 6 January 2022 around Busumbala, West Coast Region.

In the Kanifing Municipality, DLEAG’s Kanifing Field Office took into custody Alagie Kruma, a 20-year-old with two bundles of suspected cannabis sativa at Latrikunda German, where he resides. He was arrested on 5 January 2022.

 All four suspects are in custody as investigations continue.
