VP Jallow, Tangara congratulate Cuba on 44th anniversary of bilateral relations

Banjul, May 21 –  The Vice President of The Gambia, Mohammed B.S Jallow, and his Minister of Foreign Affairs, MamadouTangara, congratulated Cuba, as this May 19 marks the 44th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between both brother countries.

Jallow and Tangara conveyed their congratulations to the ambassador of the Caribbean island in this West African nation, Rubén G. Abelenda, whom they received in their respective offices together with the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade (BMC), Dr. Juan Francisco Oquendo Montes, on the occasion of such an important commemoration.

Gambian senior leaders agreed that the ties between the two states are very strong today, and will continue to be so in the future.

Likewise, they highlighted and thanked the collaboration that the largest of the Antilles has provided to this small African country for many years, in vital sectors for its economy, especially in the fields of health, education and agriculture.

They also agreed that both nations and peoples will continue to be mutually supportive, and will surely intensify their cooperation.

For his part, the Gambian Foreign Minister delivered a congratulatory letter to the Cuban diplomat addressed to his counterpart from the Caribbean island, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, in which he highlighted the historical ties of friendship, goodwill and fruitful relations that unite both countries. .

In the letter, Tangara assures Rodríguez Parrilla "of his desire to continue working together to achieve our common goals and aspirations."
