Speaking to the press, the Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment Minister said that way, the private sector will be improving our ability to employing our youth and at the same time help in generating revenue for our country.
Guinea Bissau is the second-largest cashew producer in West Africa and among the top five globally. The country is currently one of the world's largest producers of raw cashew nuts and the cashew sector has acquired enormous importance in Guinea-Bissau's economy.
According to him, they had a very great experience after visiting the cashew factories in Bissau as their capacity is great and they are exporting in containers.
“I am really impressed and I am more convinced today than ever before that we are capable of raising the game at home by improving the production capacity in terms of value addition, agro-processing, employing more people and also give the Gambia the chance to export cashew that has been adequately processed,” Hon. Joof noted.
