“All those who mismanaged Government funds will face full force of the law anytime from now,” PM Sonko stated.
"There are 3 to 4 top government officials who have run away to Dubai and Canada but government will ask for their extradition to the country."
He cited their administration’s latest actions against some government officials, saying President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on Wednesday sacked two heads of institutions - Abdoulaye Dawda Diallo of Economic Social and Environmental Council (CESE) and Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye of High Council of Territorial Communities (HCCT).
It has been reported that the National Assembly will be dissolved this month and all parliamentarians have been asked to surrender their cars.
Furthermore, the Independent Electoral Commission will announce date for the election of parliamentarians, 165 of whom form the parliament.
In a related issue, Prime Minister Sonko also responded to Parliamentary deputies Abdou Mbow and other members.
On Wednesday, he met with staff of the Prime Minister's office to better index the problems in the different services, where he took the opportunity to respond to Abdou Mbow and the other majority deputies, saying: “I want to reassure everyone. I heard about a motion of censure. But there will be no motion of censure. There are politicians overwhelmed by events and supported by their press. But I reiterate that there will be no motion of censure to bring down the government. Besides, these people will have other things to do than be deputies in the National Assembly.”
