𝐁𝐒𝐀𝐂 staff in police net over fraud

The Basse Area Council (BSAC) has revealed that one its staff, Abdou Karim Carew, has been arrested and detained by police amid reported suspected fraudulent activity involving him.

In a Facebook post yesterday, BSAC disclosed that Abdou Karim was arrested on Thursday and is currently detained at the Basse Police Station for allegedly going around collecting money from communities and shopkeepers and issuing them false receipts while falsely identifying himself as a revenue collector of the Council.

 

The post reads below:

The Basse Area Council regrets to draw the attention of the public, most especially our taxpayers and residents of the Upper River Region, to a suspected fraudulent activity involving one of our staff, Abdou Karim Carew. 

Abdou Karim was arrested on Thursday and is currently detained at the Basse Police Station for allegedly going around collecting money from communities and shopkeepers and issuing them false receipts while falsely identifying himself as a revenue collector of the Council. 

While the Council wish to strongly distance itself from any activity launched by Abdou Karim, who is currently under Police investigation, we urge the public to continue reporting any similar or suspected case of such to the nearest Police station or call us at 5428861/5428862.
