MD Malang, who doubles as a member of the Bureau of International Social Security Association (ISSA) in Geneva, Switzerland, and a member of a sub-committee selected to review the constitution of ISSA, said the automation services by the SSHFC shall begin this January 2024.
According to him, they have currently engaged the consultant and developer to ensure an effective implementation of the digitalisation procedures from this month.
Mr. Malang disclosed these developments in an interview with The Point on the recap of the SHFFC’s activities in the year 2023 in which he also deeply discussed its challenges, achievements as well as SSHFC’s implementation plans for the year 2024.
He noted that with the digitalisation procedures, the automation would enable pensioners get their payments at the right time as long as the pensioner’s paper work is correct.
To ensure effective implementation, MD Malang decided to revitalise and specifically set up a committee called the Project 59.
He said the Project 59 committee was set up to contact all the employers to complete the necessary paper work for members of staff who are at the age of 59, this will ensure that when the employee reaches the age of 60 years, this would have found out the necessary paper work has already been completed.
He concluded that with the Project 59, “you will sit in your office, register yourself and if it’s not completed, the system will not accept you. You can also sit in your office and look at your bank balance, if you are having gaps, the system will alert you.”
