Jun 25, 2024, 11:34 AM

Deputy Sheikh Abdou Bara Dolly Mbacké tabled, this Monday, a bill whose aim is to criminalise homosexuality in Senegal.

Deputy Cheikh Abdou Mbacké Bara Dolly wants the provisions of paragraph 3 of article 319 of Law No. 65-60 of July 21, 1965 on the Penal Code to be modified.

This, so that henceforth, anyone who has been recognised will be punished with a sentence of 10 to 15 years' imprisonment and a fine of 1,000,000 CFA francs to 5,000,000 CFA francs, without the possibility of granting mitigating circumstances.
