Senegal opposition leader Sonko remanded in custody - lawyers

DAKAR, July 31 (Reuters) - Senegal’s opposition leader Ousmane Sonko was remanded in custody, his lawyers said on Monday, adding that he will spend the night in prison.

He is accused of plotting an insurrection, criminal conspiracy and other offences, charges that he denies.
