The meeting, which took place in a cordial and respectful republican atmosphere, reflects the Head of State’s commitment to dialogue, the continuity of the State, and unity around the nation’s supreme interests.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President of the Republic decided that Senegal will fully support the candidacy of His Excellency Mr. Macky Sall for the position of Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Accordingly, the Head of State has instructed the Government and the entire Senegalese diplomatic network to fully mobilise in promoting this candidacy among the Member States of the United Nations.
The President of the Republic also calls on all segments of the nation to support this candidacy, which now represents Senegal’s bid in the service of Africa and a stronger, more effective multilateral system.
