The GPF urges parents and guardians to be vigilant, especially during the popular “Sunday Beach” gatherings, when large crowds, including minors, frequent the coastline without proper supervision.
The Gambia Police Force, in collaboration with the Gambia Fire and Rescue Services, the Gambia Navy, the Gambia Red Cross Society, and the Gambia Tourism Board, continues to strengthen rescue operations, improve emergency response, and enhance public awareness on coastal safety. These institutions play a vital role in the swift recovery of victims and rescue efforts during sea-related accidents.
The GPF calls on the public, particularly parents, guardians, and community leaders, to support these efforts by promoting safe beach practices and immediately reporting any emergency or suspicious situation to the nearest police post or by dialing 9968885.
The Gambia Police Force reaffirms commitment to protecting lives and property, maintaining public safety, and promoting responsible recreation along all beaches and waterways across the country.
