The victim, a female health worker, tragically lost her life following an assault by an individual in the same village on 11 December 2024.
The incident was reported to Sarengai Police Station by staff of Yerobawole Health Center. Officers promptly responded to the scene, apprehending the suspect from Jah Kunda and recovering the alleged murder weapon, a pestle.
The suspect is in police custody while the deceased has been transported to the mortuary in Banjul, EFSTH, for possible postmortem.
The public is urged to report disputes or criminal matters to the police and refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
