In Bansang, where the operation was held today, at least forty (40) motorbikes and riders were impounded. Most of the riders have already been issued mandatory spot fines, while the remainder are awaiting charges.
This operation is part of ongoing efforts to mitigate the increasing number of road traffic accidents, especially those involving motorbikes during the rainy season in rural Gambia.
