Mr Njie made the remarks during an interview with The Point recently.
According to Mr Njie, the governor and chiefs of the region were consistently having meetings with the residents of Upper Badibou convincing the electorate to vote for the ruling National People's Party candidates in the upcoming local government elections – an act he describes as unlawful.
He thus urged the governor and chiefs to immediately distance themselves from such an act as “it is against the laws of the country”.
Mr Njie renewed his call for the people of North Bank Region to avert that kind of politics and vote for candidates of their choice.
“The people of the region are not for sale and the country at large,” he emphasised.
