Monday 1st May public holiday, Gov’t decares

The Public is hereby informed that the President of the Republic of The Gambia, His Excellency Adama Barrow, acting under section 76 of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, is pleased to declare Monday 1st May 2023, as a Public Holiday throughout The Gambia, in observance of International Workers’ Day.

 

The President would like to take this opportunity to thank Gambian workers for their incredible

sacrifices for the progress of our dear country, and encourages all to maintain professionalism and be steadfast in the execution of their duties.

Workers are reassured that the Barrow government is committed to creating a conducive environment for the economy’s growth that would translate to progress in the lives of the entire workforce.
