Minister Sowe returns home with sound health

Ousman Sowe, the minister of Lands, Regional Governments and Religious Affairs who was undergoing medical treatment in Saudi Arabia has returned to The Gambia with good and sound health.

He has vowed to continue working towards the development of the country.

Sowe, the former director general of the country's State Intelligence Service (SIS) and his family flew back to the country on Saturday from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Shortly upon arrival, Mr. Sowe expressed gratitude to the Gambian people, more so to the president, His Excellency Adama Barrow, the first family, his cabinet colleagues, government officials and staff of the Ministry of Local Governments, Lands and Religious Affairs for their support and well wishes.

The Lands Minister revealed the numerous goodwill messages and prayers he received during what he described as a “difficult period.”

He also thanked the Saudi Medical Team for their professionalism while commending the Gambian health service personnel for providing him the much needed care during the first few days of his illness.

"I am looking forward to continuing the good work we had started," he said as he made his way out of the Banjul International Airport just minutes after he disembarked from the special flight from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
