Mayoress Lowe arrives home with rousing welcome

Mayoress Rohey Malick Lowe, the newly elected president of Refella Africa has arrived in Banjul with a rousing welcome.

Mayoress Lowe, who successful got elected in Kenya as the first West African president of Refella Africa was welcomed from the Banjul International Airport on Saturday 28 May 2022 mainly by the executive and supporters of United Democratic Party (UDP), staff of Banjul City Council (BCC) and her well wishers.

In an interview with the waiting reporters at the Banjul International Airport, Refella President called on the government of The Gambia to give more support to Gambian women for the best interest of the country.

She advised the people of The Gambia to “unite and work together” to develop the country as that is the only way to move forward as a nation.

She thanked the President Adama Barrow and his government for the support given to her by endorsing her candidature for the Presidency.

She also commended the entire leadership of the UDP for their support during the entire process of Refella.

Lawyer Ousainu  Darboe, the secretary general and leader of United Democratic Party (UDP), hailed Mayoress Rohey Malick Lowe, saying she has a great vision for Gambian women and youth and that she needs “everyone’s support” in order to fulfill her dreams as the President of Refella Africa.
