According to the investigation, the accused was an employee of Karl Heins Olschewski (the complainant) – a German national resident in The Gambia for over two decades.

According to the particulars of the offence, the complainant left his house at around 10 p.m. and left his watchman (employee) with his dog.

After 45 minutes, the accused called the victim and informed him about the break in the house which left the complainant immediately returning home, and subsequently, the accused went to the police station and reported the matter.

The complainant in his evidence in chief alluded that he had been residing in that house since 1991 and there had never been a stealing or breaking in the house.

However, on this date, the 17th day of December 2019, he said such occurred, and the dog never barked in his usual circumstances when a person approached the compound.

He added that he reported the matter at the police station and the police investigated the issue during which the watchman was suspected.
