He made this statement at a celebration which was held at Doboo in North Bank Region.
Hon Kandeh said if politicians are keen on the development of the country they should all come together and collectively work for the best interest of the nation. "If you really want to see the country progress, we should be ready to put our differences aside and work for the common interest."
He added that politicians should move away from insults, defamation and hate speech among others, saying is not the right way to go about politics.
"Politics should be about challenging each other on facts and merits that can make a country progress."
He congratulated President Barrow as the chair of the OIC for the next three years and prayed for his successful chairmanship.
"Gambians should be reminded that the OIC is not about the government or President Barrow. It is about The Gambia, the benefit of the organisation will not go to an individual rather The Gambia as a whole," he said.
However, he asked the President, "300 million dollars that was given to the Gambia for the summit, to construct good roads.
Aside from the road that's from Airport Junction to Senegambia, we should have 20 more roads that should have been done by now because the summit was planned since before the present government."
"This summit was brought by former President Jammeh and he bought cars in preparation for the summit but when you came in power you sold these cars which did not belong to Jammeh, but the entire nation. And when you needed cars for the summit, you went to a business a man to loan cars."
He reminisced that "today marks 8 years since the party was established here in NBR, and we are celebrating it in the same region. Thanked all dedicated party members since inception because they are the reason they are where they are today."
