Judiciary to host 20th Conference of C/Wealth Magistrates & Judges

The Judiciary of The Gambia is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the 20th Triennial Conference of the Commonwealth Magistrates’ and Judges’ Association (CMJA) from September 21 to 26, 2025. This high-level event will bring together over 25 Honorable Chief Justices across the Commonwealth, over 150 Supreme Court and High Court Judges, Magistrates, and legal scholars to discuss pertinent issues and access to justice under the theme: “Innovation in Judicial Practice: Embracing Change for a Better Future.”

As an international judicial organization that brings together judicial officers of all ranks and judicial bodies from every region of the Commonwealth, the CMJA is dedicated to advancing justice, promoting legal education, and disseminating knowledge on matters of judicial interest. The conference aims to promote a deeper understanding of judicial independence across diverse Commonwealth jurisdictions, raise awareness of international treaties and laws related to justice development and access, and enhance professional networks and dialogue on emerging judicial developments.

The conference will provide a platform for esteemed judicial officers to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices. It will also offer opportunities for networking, collaboration, and exchange of ideas on emerging judicial issues.
